Hence the need to expand the Adelaide Cottage, where she lives with William and the children, on the Windsor estate, recovering “a secret house” close to their home so that she has all the comforts to overcome and recover from the tumor. According to rumors, William and Kate Middleton are considering renovate and expand an outbuilding in red brick, little known, adjacent to their residence, theAdelaide Cottage in Windsor, which is known for its small size. In fact, the cottage has only four bedrooms, this makes it perfect against prying eyes, given that the staff serving the Princes, who live with them, is necessarily limited. But with Kate’s illness the needs have evidently changed and hence the idea of recovering space by also taking advantage of the annex, defined as “the secret house“, because few knew of its existence, at least until now.
William and Kate moved to Adelaide Cottage in summer 2022, where he is now being treated, to be closer to Queen Elizabeth who, ill, had left Buckingham Palace for the Windsor residence. “No one knows that next to Adelaide Cottage there is a rather spacious red brick annexe which is not being used,” an insider said. “It is currently habitable and requires extensive renovation work if it were to be used. Discussions about using the property as part of the overall cottage plot have been ongoing for some time, but it’s just a matter of finding the right time to get the project underway.”
The renovation works are not a whim but arise from Kate’s need to have an adequate and peaceful space where she can live with her family and with those who are assisting her in her cancer treatment. The ideal place in this sense would be Anmer Hall, the country house in Norfolk where he normally spends weekends and holidays with his family. But it is impractical while children go to school.
