Carlo, Harry’s return to London is a problem
Cancer has made Charles think a lot about his relationship with Harry, Palace sources have revealed. The King, who even before his illness was intent on re-establishing relations with his second son, absolutely wants to find a positive solution to the situation. For this reason he would have decided to invite Harry and Meghan Markle to Balmoral this summer. Also because he would not be at all in favor of their possible divorce, which is in fact already underway, at least professionally speaking.
But there are many problems to consider and resolve for Harry’s return to London, scheduled for May 8th on the occasion of the Invictus Games. The time available to get to the bottom of it is very little, even considering that Carlo is in therapy to treat cancer.
First there is the Meghan Markle issue. Will there be or not? Less than a month before the London event nothing is known yet. Carlo does not appreciate his daughter-in-law who he sees as the cause of this tense situation. But he cannot afford a divorce within the Royal Family, especially now that the Monarchy is very weak and an ill Kate Middleton cannot help him.
On the other hand, it is clear that at Court Meghan is persona non grata. Her presence would embarrass many members of the Royal Family, including William, but not considering her, should she ever come to London, would mean losing all hope of a possible reconciliation with Harry.
Then there’s the problem that Camilla can’t stand Harry. Mutual feeling for each other. In fact, the Duke of Sussex has never hidden her aversion towards the Queen consort who considers the woman who usurped her place as Diana’s mother, ruining her life.
In his autobiography, Spare, Harry does not hesitate to define his stepmother as “a bad person” and when he met his father, after the announcement of his cancer, he demanded that she not be present at the interview. But this hatred of the Prince towards Camilla has always lasted. Indeed, Harry would beg Carlo not to marry her, considering their marriage “unnecessary”. According to the Duke, his brother William was also against the wedding. But now he seems to have accepted Camilla as his father’s wife and Queen consort.
Therefore, Carlo finds himself between a rock and a hard place, that is, between his beloved wife and his son who refuses to even be in the same room with his stepmother. Among other things, Camilla’s son also entered this tangle, Tom Parker Bowles, who recently wrote a book, demonstrating that we can also speak positively about the Monarchy. “He wouldn’t do anything to harm her, unlike Harry who wanted to wash his dirty linen in public.”
Certainly all these tensions do not help to continue cancer treatments with serenity. And this too must be taken into account when Harry returns to London.
