“Cultural” businesses are growing in the Province, but the wealth produced is declining

The Culture confirms itself as a vital component of the local economy, even if with some declines that need to be monitored. According to the latest report “I am culture 2025”, developed by the Economic Observatory of the Romagna Chamber of Commerce.

In the national ranking, Always out of 107 provinces, Rimini occupies the 45th place by relative incidence (first three places: Milan, Gorizia, Rome); fifth positioninstead, in regional ranking (after Modena, Bologna, Reggio Emilia and Parma).

Taking inspiration from the data of the “I am culture” report, which talks about the economic and social value of companies operating in the cultural and creative sector, I would like to address a thought to all the people who are currently working to animate our squares and our theaters in these hours of celebration – he declares Carlo Battistinipresident of the Romagna Chamber of Commerce -. The cultural and creative production system is naturally not just entertainment, but a real industry which in our territory has exceeded the threshold of one billion euros of produced value. Behind every event, every installation and every digital innovation, there are extraordinary skills: from design and communication professionals to those who work in the performing arts. The 2024 data relating to the entire system give us a picture of growth for businesses and employment and, although the impact on total wealth is still slightly lower than the national averages, the vitality of our ‘core culture’ (+1.2% of businesses) exceeds the regional average. This tells us that the path is the right one: culture is the yeast that increases the value of our entire production system.”
