Nicola Maccanico has resigned as CEO and general director of Cinecittà. He did so with a letter addressed to the board of directors ”at the end of three intense years, full of complex challenges and important satisfactions”. “In fact – we read in the letter – Cinecittà is not only one of the best-known brands in our country and a physical space that represents the highest and most international concept of Italian creativity. Together we have managed to demonstrate that it can also be a strong company, competitive, capable of generating profits through the attraction of large Italian and international productions. The numbers of the three-year period are the most authoritative confirmation of this transformation: we have reached 100 million in industrial turnover of which 43 million from the Art Department and Set Design, we have closed. the last two financial statements have been profitable, bringing the Ebit to over 2.5 million and we have hosted over 50 major productions. And we are returning to the shareholder, as it makes me particularly proud, a company with a net worth that increases the share capital initial of 1.2 million”. “In short, our work – he continues – has sent a clear message to the Italian and international audiovisual industry: our country can be as competitive today as it was in its brightest past. We are not only destined to celebrate what we have represented in a era that no longer exists: in Italy the future can be built. And speaking of the future, the further growth in size of the company, guaranteed by the development of the new theaters through the Pnrr, will make the objective of placing it even more complex but fascinating. Cinecittà at the center of the international production market is definitely a challenge that can be won.” And he concludes: “Now the time has come for me to imagine new personal and professional horizons.”
