In home Audi it’s time to launch new increasingly powerful and high-performance models. This time it was the turn of the e-tron GT, a car that has always tickled the imagination of motor lovers. Since its debut in 2021, the car in question has set itself the goal of becoming the first full electric from the Group of 4 rings to reach the pinnacle of sporting performance. Now, however, a major restyling has arrived, both technical and aesthetic.

In particular, emphasis was placed on one of the major problems of these electric cars: autonomy. On this e-tron GT, in fact, this parameter has been increased to 609 WLTP kilometers. Important numbers that denote Audi’s commitment to sustainable mobility, which at the same time winks at sportiness.

The exterior of the car

There are many changes aesthetically placed on the new Audi e-tron GT, some of which may seem almost nothing to the inexperienced eye. First we find a new black frame surrounding the single frame where we also find a honeycomb design, which connects to the side air intakes.

Between the grille and the bonnet, however, we find a band in the same color as the bodywork. A solution that we also find at the rear, where the extractor features marked vertical ribs and an upper profile in the same color as the bodywork. As regards the performance version of the RS e-tron GT there are truly special elements such as the roof completely in matt carbon and the air intakes with camouflage carbon elements. Details that we also find on the doors, on the extractor and on the mirrors.

The entire range features the new two-dimensional Audi logo, in polar white on the S e-tron GT and in anthracite gray for the RS versions. There is also news regarding the color range with the entry of metallic Bedford green for the RS e-tron GT performance version. While metallic Nuvola gray is available on both RS versions.

The design of the 20 and 21″ alloy wheels has also been revisited. In particular, we highlight the 21″ forged rims with 6 double spokes which are a tribute to the Avus Wheel, dedicated to the concept Audi Avus from 1991. The aforementioned rims are present as standard on the performance version. For the most demanding customers, however, the Teutonic brand, through its exclusive program, offers further customizations.

What we find inside

The massive restyling which saw the e-tron GT as protagonist naturally also concerns the passenger compartment. In fact, we find a steering wheel with a flattened crown in the upper and lower sections. At 12 o’clock there is a red marking with references to motorsport. While in the RS variants there are two additional control satellites, always red. The plus sports seats are found as standard on the S e-tron GT version and are attractive due to the backlit logo under the headrest.

Also in this case there is ample opportunity to customize the car. There is the RS design package, in gray and red, while for the RS e-tron GT performance there is green with the new color “Serpentine” for the contrasting stitching with some elements of the car. However, Audi has also decided to wink at sustainability. Precisely for this reason we opted for sustainable materials such as fabric Cascade and the Dynamic microfibremade from 45% recycled polyester from PET bottles.

As for the Dinamica microfibre, we also find it in the “deep black” variant. The Cascade fabric, on the other hand, is composed of 15% selvedge, 35% recycled polyester and offers sensations similar to natural fibres. We find it, undyed, used in seat upholstery. Attention to ecology also for the mats, made in Econyla fiber that is obtained from the polyamide of fishing nets and also from carpet waste.

One of the most fascinating innovations we find in the passenger compartment of this Audi, however, is certainly the panoramic roof with adaptive transparency. An optional feature, a glass that can become more or less opaque so as to reduce the impact of the sun inside the car. New features also regarding the virtual cockpit digital instrument panel. Some updates have been made to provide information on battery temperature and maximum charging power.

What’s under the hood

However, let’s get to the most interesting part of this e-tron GT: the engine. The S e-tron GT version has 660 HP and 740 Nm of torque, 150 HP and 110 Nm more than the previous one. As regards, however, the RS e-tron GT variant we find an engine capable of releasing 856 HP and 865 Nm. What is surprising, however, is the top of the range, the performance, which brings out 925 HP and 1027 Nm which makes it the ‘The most powerful series Audi ever. An indispensable jewel in the garage of all fans of the 4 rings brand.

The S e-tron GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, while the RS achieves the same goal in 2.8 seconds. Finally, of course, the performance goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. Amazing data also with regards to the maximum speed with the S version which stands at 245 km/h, the two RSs have a maximum top speed of 250 km/h. These last two versions in particular can also benefit from a temporary boost of 95 HP with a maximum duration of 10 seconds.

Batteries and prices

The e-tron GT’s battery has a capacity of 105 kWh (97 kWh net). On WLTP mixed cycle this Audi has a maximum range of 609 km. All versions are around 600 km in autonomy. As regards the charging speed, it is 320 kW and it is possible to go from 10% to 80% battery with approximately 18 minutes of charging. With 10 minutes of charging, however, you can travel about 280 km. The new Plug & Charge system, however, allows you to automatically start charging without having to use cards and apps.

Finally we come to the sore points: the price. Of course these cars are certainly not for light wallets. The S e-tron GT which is the entry level of the range starts from 128,400 euros, while to have the RS e-tron GT it will take 159,400 euros. Finally, for the top performance you will have to pay a minimum amount of 175,400 euros. These prices, of course, may increase in case of particular customizations. We are certain that this range will continue to capture the hearts of various VIPs, as has already been done in the past for example with Prince William.
