After the big (definitely surprising) announcement of the Fiat Grande Panda, the Turin company is ready to launch at least other low cost models on Stellantis Smart Car platform.
Fiat intends to continue selling other cars electric and at the same time also hybrid in the coming years, and it will do so while maintaining the corporate spirit intact, producing cars that are cheap, beautiful and fun.
The idea, as already anticipated by the Fiat concepts that were revealed last February, is to give life to new models “based on Panda”, which derive from the beloved city car that has just been renewed. The next model will be the twin of the C3 Aircross and the Opel Frontera, so it could be one Multiplea larger SUV that can accommodate perhaps up to 7 seats divided into three different rows, although a nostalgic appeal with two rows of three cannot be ruled out.
It’s not clear whether it will be called that, but CEO Olivier Francois has open to a return of the mythical “van” consequently everything is possible. Finally there will be a second model, about which very little is known, so at the moment only hypotheses can be made. However, it cannot be ruled out that it is the Fastback presented precisely on February 26th and which could represent a sort of Multipla but with the rear window connecting to the tail.
Note that these will be cars that will come all marketed in Europe also adding a new Fiat designed exclusively for the South American market, most likely an affordable pickup. We remind you that the Smart Car platform allows you to obtain cars with an autonomy of up to 400 km. Furthermore, the production of the cars is less complex and expensive than those produced on e-CMP. Ultimately it is a platform multienergy consequently, where the market requires it, hybrid versions will also be envisaged, as happened with the new Panda.
