In Brianza the huge waste management plant that will manage 50 thousand tons of garbage per year

A maxi plant that is capable of treating up to 50 thousand tons of non-hazardous waste per year and which guarantees jobs for 40 families in the area. Ribbon cutting this morning, Wednesday 12 June, of the new structure in Lazzate, in via Marco Biagi 1.

A strategic investment of approximately 5 million euros signed by Haiki Recycling Srl, part of Haiki+ Srl, subholding of Innovatec SpA, a company listed on the Euronext Growth Milan (EGM) market. “The plant – the company says – is equipped with latest generation technologies and is able to maximize the recovery of valorisable components present in waste, such as paper, cardboard, plastic and wood, significantly contributing to the reduction of the use of landfills from a circular economy perspective”. In the new Brianza plant, selection, highly automated sorting, shredding and mechanical pressing of waste are planned. These processes allow the recovery of recyclable product fractions such as raw materials (paper, iron, plastic, wood, cardboard, etc.) and the shredding of non-recyclable waste for subsequent sending for energy recovery. To optimize storage and valorization of the materials sent for subsequent recovery, the waste is pressed.

In the plant there are latest generation machinery: a horizontal press for waste packaging, with a production capacity of 40 tons per hour; a shredder for the volumetric reduction of different material flows, with a production capacity of 50 tons per hour; a sorting cabin for the precise separation of valorisable components from waste, such as paper, cardboard, wood and plastic. To support its main activities, Haiki Recycling also has mobile spiders, forklifts and a fleet of vehicles and drivers for collection services in the area. Furthermore, the plant is completed by reception areas, final storage and all the accompanying plant equipment, such as fire prevention systems, wastewater collection, weighing, offices and workshop.

“Haiki Recycling also provides installation and rental services for waste containers (roll-off or fixed) and the collection and transport of waste to authorized plants, including intermediation. The warehouse that hosts the production activities is equipped with a dedicated system of dust extraction and suppression, as well as an advanced fire prevention system, thus guaranteeing high standards of safety and respect for the environment”, reads the official company note.

“The opening of this plant represents an important step towards our mission of promoting the circular economy – commented Flavio Raimondo, CEO of Haiki+ -. We are proud to contribute to the reduction of waste destined for landfills and to create new places of I work in the local community.”

“Waste management represents an important challenge for a sustainable future, for the world and also for our communities – adds the mayor of Lazzate Andrea Monti -. Today an important activity begins, also for the economic development of our territory, in an area that has been abandoned for years and which can thus support the destination for which it was identified. Everyone must do their part, united to achieve the ambitious goal of waste cycle management that is sustainable, safe, low impact and technologically advanced.”
“This plant is a perfect example of how innovation and environmental sustainability go hand in hand – declared the President of Haiki+, Nicola Colucci -. Thanks to this investment, we can significantly improve our waste management and contribute to a more sustainable future for everyone.”
