In the wake of the great European success of the Jeep Avenger, which alone sells more than all of Alfa Romeo, Jeep is working on a new electric car to be positioned just below the penultimate arrival.
After officially unveiling the Jeep Wagoneer S, an SUV that challenges the Tesla Model Y Performance, the company is ready to focus on its third BEV after the Avenger and the Wagoneer. We still don’t know much about it but some information has emerged, starting with the fact that it will have a price of 25 thousand dollars (or 25 thousand euros depending on whether it will also be sold in Europe), and will be released from Smart Car Platform.
This is the same platform where the Citroen e-C3 and from which it will be released on July 11th new Fiat Panda 2024, also available in an electric version for the first time. We therefore expect a car that is not as small as some might imagine, given that the platform in question has the possibility of creating cars with lengths ranging from 4 to 4.4 meters.
It could therefore have the same dimensions as the aforementioned Avenger (which measures just 4 meters) or possibly the Renegade, which is approximately 20 centimeters longer. As for the rest, obviously everything is silent, starting with understanding when it could be commercialized the new low-cost electric Jeep.
Taking into account that the new Compass and the new Grand Cherokee should be released in 2025, it is difficult to even think of a third model, while for 2026 only the new 100% electric Jeep Renegadeconsequently the new economical BEV could also be revealed in two years.
While waiting for more information, the hype towards the new model has undoubtedly skyrocketed after its announcement, taking into account that Jeep he practically didn’t miss a beat in recent years, starting with the already praised Avenger which, thanks to a transversal offer characterized by all possible engines, i.e. electric, hybrid, pure thermal and hybrid all-wheel drive, has managed to meet the needs of the general public.
