The bonus is born as a corporate welfare initiativeinitially set at 200 euros per year per worker. This amount, convertible in shopping vouchers and subscriptions, offers a wide range of services: from fuel vouchers to gym memberships to cultural courses. However, thanks to the intervention of the trade unions, the benefit was increased to 250 eurosmaking the package even more generous and advantageous for workers.

To access the 250 euro bonusworkers must respect some specific criteria:

– Be employees of the metalworking sector in service on 1 January 2024 or hired by 31 December of the same year.
– Having passed the probationary period.
– Don’t be expectant.

Temporary workers can also benefit from the bonus, provided they have worked at least 3 months during 2024. These requirements ensure that the benefit is equally distributed among all those who contribute to the industry. The welfare package will have to be used by May 2025. The beneficiaries will have the opportunity to choose how to spend the bonus among the various options available in the company catalogue, which includes a series of goods and services designed to improve the quality of life of workers.

One of the most appreciated features of this bonus is its automatic disbursement. The employees they will not have to follow particular bureaucratic procedures to request it.
