New real estate sale of the assets that belonged to Silvio Berlusconi: one of the Cavaliere’s villas changes ownership but remains in the family, passing into the hands of his brother Paolo.

The property in question is Villa Miramare which is located in Sardinia in the Gulf of Marinella, adjacent to Villa Certosa, the historic summer residence of the former President of the Council of Ministers.

Paolo Berlusconi buys Villa Miramare in Sardinia: the price

According to what was reported by ‘Il Messaggero’, the compromise on Villa Miramare was stipulated by Paolo Berlusconi with Fininvest Real Estate: the cost of the real estate operation would be around 3.5 million euros.

As mentioned, Villa Miramare is located adjacent to Villa Certosa, Silvio Berlusconi’s residence in Sardinia which in turn has been put up for sale and represents one of the most valuable pieces of the former Prime Minister’s entire real estate legacy.

Like other Cavaliere properties, Villa Miramare has also changed ownership, but remains in the family. The new owner is Paolo Berlusconi, Silvio’s younger brother and one of the founders of Fininvest. In 1990, with the entry into force of the Mammì law which prohibited those who owned a television channel from simultaneously controlling a newspaper, Silvio Berlusconi handed over the Il Giornale publishing company to Paolo who is still the publisher today.

Paolo was alongside Silvio in many entrepreneurial activities, including those linked to the world of football such as Monza: the Cavaliere’s brother, in fact, first held the role of board member of the Brianza company, and then assumed the presidency.

From 8 July 2022, following a change to the club’s statute, Paolo then became the honorary president of Monza, a team that would like to name its stadium after Silvio Berlusconi.

Silvio Berlusconi’s real estate legacy

With the passage of Villa Miramare to Paolo Berlusconi, another real estate asset of the former Prime Minister has found a new buyer, while remaining in the family. The same thing, for example, had happened with Villa Campari passed to Marina Berlusconi, Silvio’s eldest daughter.

Villa Visconti di Modrone should become available to Barbara Berlusconi, while Luigi, the third son of Silvio and Veronica Lario and Barbara’s brother, moved permanently to Milan by purchasing Villa Borletti, after having personally taken care of its renovation at the time of the sale.

Pier Silvio Berlusconi would have been targeted Villa Grandethe Roman residence also known by the name of Villa Zeffirelli: according to those in the know, he would have expressed his desire to acquire the property located along the Via Appia Antica, bought by Silvio in 2011 for a figure close to 3.75 million euros and then granted on free loan to the director Franco Zeffirelli until his death, and then became the Knight’s last Roman home.

However, Ville Due Palme, the house that Silvio purchased in 2011 on the island of Lampedusa: the economist Gianni Profita, rector of the Saint Cmillus International University of Health and Medical Sciences (UniCamillus) in Rome, would have paid a sum close to 3 million euros to become the new owner of the villa.
