We can say anything, but Xiaomi SU7 it’s a success, at least so far. It’s not always all rosy though: there are always some problems. It now seems to have become normal that many futuristic vehicles are not exactly perfect at the beginning of their life cycle (Tesla Cybertruck teaches).
The most recent case, which has caught the attention of many for its strangeness, concerns one of the first buyers of the Xiaomi SU7. After anxiously awaiting the car for over a month, this owner had the misfortune of seeing his vehicle breaking down after just 39 kilometers routes. The car simply stalled.
The mystery surrounding this incident deepened when the Xiang’an delivery center confirmed that it had not been able to locate the cause of the failure and indicating that the car needed to be sent to the factory for further investigation. The owner expressed his disappointment with the situation, preferring to get a new car rather than a refund. However, this request is currently problematic as production continues at a pace and the waiting list is still very long.
It’s not the first time we’re reporting some missteps from the Xiaomi SU7: recently we told you about a case in which the trunk of the Xiaomi sedan didn’t open; other situations however have seen problems relating to automatic emergency braking and anomalies in the paintwork and wear of the seats.
Despite these setbacks, Xiaomi has achieved a certain degree of success in the automotive market, ranking sixth in China in the sales ranking of electric vehicles with a price above 200,000 yuan (around 25,700 euros). Furthermore, production is going swimmingly, with record pace for a brand that has just entered the automotive industry: within a month, 10,000 units of Xiaomi SU7 were produced, approximately one every 76 seconds. However, the brand will need to address and resolve these challenges related to the quality of its product to maintain consumer trust and ensure long-term success.
