NO EXTENSION – After the Fiesta, which ended its production last summer, another Ford model is destined to end its history soon. It’s about the Ford Focus (in the pictures), which in the middle of 2025 it will cease to be produced in the Saarlouis plant, Germany. And for those who hoped that the decrease in demand for electric cars, which pushed other manufacturers to slow down on the elimination of combustion models, would extended life of the Focus now comes a freezing shower: the blue oval has “no plan for extend production of Focus”, confirms Martin Sander, general manager of Ford in Europe, to the weekly Truck.
CONVINCED IN ELECTRIC – Ford will therefore not follow the example of other manufacturers. There Mercedes, for example, has extended the production deadline of the A-Class to 2026, precisely due to the high demand for cars with traditional engines. The group too JLR (Jaguar and Land Rover) has slowed its electric transition to produce more plug-in hybrid cars and the group Volkswagen has reduced EV production because current supply has exceeded demand. And he reiterates: “By the end of this year, we will have a complete range of electric vehicles and we are flexible enough to adapt to market demand. For the next two years we will have a wide choice.”
