On Sunday 26 May 2024, Guglionesi will host a special day dedicated to brother Giacomo Antonio Di Meo, one of the first companions of San Camillo De Lellis. The event includes the celebration of Holy Mass at 6pm in the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, with the display of the Saint’s relic. This will be followed by the presentation of the book “The Angel of San Camillo de Lellis” written by Don Nicola Mattia.

The meeting will see the participation of Prof. Giuseppe Fidelibus, professor of Philosophy at the University of Chieti, Fr. Germano Santone, Rector of the Sanctuary of San Camillo de Lellis in Bucchianico, and the author Don Nicola Mattia, parish priest of San Martino in Pensilis. Luigi Catelli will moderate.

Don Nicola Mattia’s book is a tribute to brother Giacomo Antonio de Meo da Guglionesi, a figure of great faith and prayer, as well as one of the founders of the Ministers of the Sick (Camillians). The preface is edited by p. Gianfranco Lunardon. Don Nicola Mattia, driven by affection for his hometown, explored the life of brother Giacomo Antonio de Meo, born in Guglionesi in 1560, bringing to light, after four centuries, his luminous testimony of life and charity.

The event will be a moment of reflection and spiritual enrichment, uniting the community in remembering a significant historical figure and in exploring the values ​​of faith and service he represented.
