Your story is set in London.
“It has always been a city that I have found decidedly fascinating and stimulating. Especially when it comes to literature… London is full of bookshops and readers, just think of how many people carry a book with them while traveling on the tube, while walking, while sitting at a table for breakfast…”
And are there any books about the city that you particularly loved?
“I was raised by my mother with stories like Notting Hill And Love Actuallywhich have always made me dream of being there too, under that gloomy sky, living the life of the protagonists.”

Why did you want to talk about a love that is born and grows among books?
“All the love I know – or at least its purest form – I have encountered thanks to books. I have always thought and known within myself that between the pages of a book you can discover the secret of the great unknown that is love, which is why in my book I decided to have it born and grow right in a bookshop”.
So the story of your protagonists partly reflects yours.
“Exactly, in Daylight my protagonists learn to love through reading, like I did.”

What are the books that made you fall in love?
“The list would be very long, but it was definitely one of the greatest love stories I’ve ever read I before you by Jojo Moyes. This book teaches you the two sides of love: the beautiful and passionate one (in short, the one that generates an instinctive smile) and the painful and scary one, which forces you to keep your feet on the ground to avoid falling. Clark and Will’s love was a great inspiration in the writing of Daylight“.
What is the booktoker experience teaching you?
“Being a booktoker in these two years has made me understand how doing what you love – even if in the eyes of others it may make you somehow ‘different’ – is always better than doing what you’re not passionate about”.
And how did you get along with your booktoker colleagues and the communities of online readers?
“On this journey I met people who gave me affection and who shared their passion for reading with me. We came together like the little protagonists of an adventure book and created something together… isn’t it crazy? With BookTok I learned to give true value to the thing I love most: reading.”
