Francavilla F.na: The Roads of Books – VI edition from 13 to 19 May
Descriptive text here

The festival of illustrated books and literature that promotes reading for all ages returns to Francavilla Fontana, with an edition themed “Sottosopra” to question ourselves about the changing world.

The world is turning upside down, with old rules that no longer apply and new scenarios that open up in everyday life. Le Strade dei libri also goes upside down this year, to investigate the new world we live in.

From May 13th to 19th The Streets of Books returns to the historic center of Francavilla Fontana (BR) for the sixth edition of this small festival and celebration of encounters, of illustrated books, of children’s literature that dialogues with the awareness of adults.

The sixth edition will be a siesta, a way to rest in the stone shadow of the old city; stop and thinkimagine, dream, with the warmth of midday sleep that acts as a mirror and overturns waking life, reality as we know it.

In a upside down of words and images that make the exception the norm, the extraordinary an intuition for everyday life, the contradiction an adventure and the discovery the inestimable certainty.

With readings, workshops, meetings, exhibitions, music and presentationsLe Strade dei Libri will inhabit the historic center of Francavilla Fontana for seven days, actively involving educational institutions and strategic partners in an event dedicated to all ages.

Among this year’s guests, very important illustrators on the national scene such as Andrea Antinori, Irene Guglielmi, Giovanni Colaneri and Edo Massa; Apulian artists appreciated internationally such as Giorgio Di Palma And Giovanna Lopalco (with an exhibition), advertising and communication experts such as Paolo Landi with his book “The dictatorship of the algorithm”.

The collaboration with the publishing house also continues La Meridiana Editionswhich will bring the authors Marìca Catalano and Teresa Righetti to the festival to talk about disability and inclusion, and begins the one with Ziczica publishing company from Bari that will hold a workshop and present its works linked to the territory.

Special events will be handled by Dante Spada (drum circle), Pachamama and Roots and Wings (readings and music), MAD (craftsmanship), to close with the shadow theater of Silvio Gioia and his show “Me and my shadow”.

Le Strade dei Libri is edited by The Roots and the Wings And Francavillese bookshop with the patronage of Municipality of Francavilla Fontana.
