Four Fantasy books, perfect for experiencing unmissable adventures

Happy Sunday dear readers! Today we talk about four fantasy literary titles. This is a genre that is sometimes very underestimated but which, however, can offer great satisfaction, managing to catapult the reader into compelling and passionate, intense and – above all – epic events.

The books proposed this week are to be considered timeless and intended mainly for an adult audience, but they remain firm leaders in the sector and continue to arouse great fanfare throughout the world, regardless of the target audience.

Lovers and curious, I hope you immerse yourself in these extraordinary stories to live even more extraordinary lives.

For any doubts and/or further information regarding the books (or the videos that I attach to the articles where I post the plots of the proposed books) you can contact me at this email address: [email protected]

Below I leave you the plots of the books I also talk about in the video.

Thank you and enjoy your viewing for an unmissable read!

Piranesi

Plot

Piranesi lives in the House. Maybe always. Day after day he explores its infinite halls, while in his diaries he keeps track of all the wonders and mysteries that this labyrinthine world holds. The abandoned corridors lead into vestibule after vestibule, where thousands of beautiful marble statues are displayed. Imposing ruined stairways lead instead to the floors where it is too risky to enter: thick blankets of clouds hide the upper level from view, while unpredictable tides rising from who knows what depths submerge the lower halls.
Every Tuesday and Friday Piranesi meets with the Other to tell him his latest discoveries. This enigmatic man is the only person he talks to, because the few who have been in the House before him are now just skeletons blending into the marble.
Suddenly mysterious messages appear: someone has arrived in the House and is trying to contact Piranesi. Who is it about? The scholar hopes for a new friend, while for the Other it is just a terrible threat. Piranesi reads and rereads his diaries but the memories do not match, time seems to flow on its own and the Other only confuses his ideas with his elusive answers.

Jhonatan Strange & Mr. Norrel

Plot

In a London struggling with a difficult war, two men are about to change history with their powerful spells. In the midst of the Napoleonic Wars, most academics believe that magic has now completely disappeared in England. Everything changes when the shy scholar Mr. Norrell publicly reveals his abilities as a magician, creating a wave of enthusiasm that sweeps across the country and carries him to the salons of London’s high society, where he puts his powers to use of politicians and comes to terms with a gentleman from a fairy kingdom. Another magician then emerges on the scene: the young and daring Jonathan Strange, who first becomes Mr. Norrell’s disciple and then questions all his theories, attracted as he is by the most dangerous and dark forms of magic.

The Assassin’s Apprentice

Plot

In a world pervaded by a subtle and disturbing magic, a humanity made up of servants and lords tries to survive among the court intrigues and the threats of mysterious pirates, who manipulate their victims by depriving them of any form of reason and feeling. Among these dangers wanders the young Fitz, a bastard of royal lineage, whose only consolation is a magical and tender empathic bond with animals. Welcomed into the court, the young man must learn new arts: the use of weapons, writing, etiquette – and the ability to kill in the shadows. Growing up, he faces the loneliness that being raised for a cruel profession entails, but manages to develop his powers, inherited from the blood of the Farseer lineage. The first assignment, against the future bride of the heir to the throne, puts his loyalty to the test, but also reveals his true friends and allies: who in the royal family intends to use him as a weapon, and who instead he knows that the key to the future of the kingdom lies in him…

Outlander – The foreigner

Plot

It’s 1945, the war is finally over. Claire Randall, a former Royal Army nurse, is spending a second honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands with her husband Frank, a history professor at Oxford. During a walk, Claire is captured by the mysterious stone circle erected on the Craigh na Dun hill: an unaware time traveler, she finds herself a stranger in a strange land – a sassenach -, suddenly catapulted into a country devastated by conflicts and divided between clan. It is the year of our Lord 1743. In that world full of passion and violence, superstitions and treacherous alliances, Claire’s life is in constant danger. And also her heart: the only one she can count on is the young Jamie Fraser, a Scottish warrior wanted by the Redcoats, with whom she establishes a gradually deeper relationship. So profound that it makes her question everything that he has meant to her up to that moment and leaves her torn between two men, two eras… and two destinies.
