“A Goal in Paradise”: this is how we could define the seventh volume of the series “Benevento and its history” by Nicola Russo (Sannio Sport Editions), completed and published posthumously by his beloved wife Immacolata Fiscarelli.
Journalistic passion and football fever have represented the existential feature of the journalist Nicola Russo (1943 – 2018), founder and director of the paper periodical Sannio Sport.
The latest book published narrates – with the typical prose of a sports reporter – facts, anecdotes and testimonies of the most exciting years in the history of Benevento Calcio, i.e. those ranging from 2010 to 2020; all of this, then, accompanied by numerous scoresheets and a powerful photographic documentation.
The VII volume of “Benevento and its history” will be presented next May 3rd, starting at 5.30 pm, in the council room of the Rocca dei Rettori, headquarters of the Province of Benevento.
Introduced by the greetings of the mayor of Benevento, Clemente Mastella; of the president of the Province, Nino Lombardi; and the municipal councilor for culture, Antonella Tartaglia Polcini; speakers will be Giuseppe Iannicelli, journalist and radio and television presenter; Alfredo Pietronigro, director of the online newspaper GazzettaBenevento.it; Bruno Marra, journalist; and Mario Pedicini, journalist and writer.
The evening will be moderated by the provincial delegate of CONI, Mario Collarile.
The seven volumes of the series “Benevento and its history” represent an important legacy not only for the Giallorossi world, but for all football lovers.
A myriad of information that future generations will also be able to use.
