Book coupon portal for the free supply of textbooks to pupils in state and private primary schools in the Sicilian Region, the news for the municipalities: this is the theme of the webinar held this morning and organized by ANCI Sicily and the Department of Public Education of the Sicilian Region .
The meeting had the aim of informing the municipalities on the new methods of settlement of invoices issued by the bookshops registered on the portal, since the new reference legislation for the 2024-2025 school year directly involves the municipal administrations.
Around 200 mayors and administrators took part in the webinar, coordinated by the general secretary of ANCI Sicily, Mario Emanuele Alvano.
“With a view to good practices and institutional collaboration – explained the president Paolo Amenta and the general secretary Alvano – we organized this information meeting to illustrate in detail the obligations which, previously managed by the Region, are now the responsibility of the municipalities. Municipalities will also be able to consult the most relevant guidelines and information on the Association’s website, while for any problem they can contact technical assistance. The possibility of monitoring the actual use of book coupons constitutes one of the useful elements for municipalities to intervene on school dropout”.
The meeting was attended by, among others, Giovanna Segreto, general manager of the Public Education Department of the Sicilian Region.
