The OTIUM Association organizes the third edition of the project “From the book to the catalogue”, a path of social sharing which has obtained recognition from the Ministry of Culture – General Directorate of Libraries and Copyright.

Workshops for all tastes – Three workshops will involve a heterogeneous audience, offering everyone the opportunity to approach the world of books in a creative and stimulating way.
“The library we want”: a workshop dedicated to young library users, who will have the opportunity to reorganize the shelves and give their contribution to the management of the library. (9-11 April 2024, 6.00pm-8.00pm)
“Book cataloging”: a workshop aimed at OTIUM teachers and associates, which will delve into the methods of cataloging books, from their entry into the library to their placement on the shelves. (23-24 April 2024, 6.00pm-8.00pm)
“Dada Libro”: a creative workshop for the children of the Sirtori primary school in Marsala, who will be able to have fun deconstructing and constructing a book, bringing their imagination to life. (23 April 2024, 09:00-12:00)
Meeting for local companies
On April 22, at 6.30 pm, a meeting entitled “Sustainability, Business Culture and Territory” will be held, aimed at local companies. The meeting, hosted by Josè Rallo (Donnafugata winery) and Francesco Sesti (accountant consultant), will put the spotlight on two very current issues:
The relationship between businesses and the territory: how companies can interact with the territory to enhance it and promote culture.
The generational transition and the economic sustainability of companies: how a well-planned generational transition can encourage the entry of young people into companies, bringing with them new ideas and skills.
The meeting is organized in collaboration with the Perpetum Cultural Association.
The program of events will conclude with a concert, which will be held on April 22 at 8.30 pm.
An opportunity to get closer to culture “From book to catalogue” represents an important opportunity to get closer to culture and the world of books in an active and participatory way. The wide variety of scheduled events offers something for everyone, from children to adults, from reading enthusiasts to industry professionals.
The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Culture and carried out in collaboration with the Culture Department of the Municipality of Marsala, confirms OTIUM’s commitment to promoting culture and the territory.
