FRANCAVILLA AL MARE – There is an increasingly greater need for stories to be transversal, to live in books and beyond. We are increasingly seeing new ways of enjoying stories, just think of audiobooks or the Kindle. In light of this, and to bring as many people as possible closer to reading, the “Read Forte” project will start on Monday 22 April for “Libridine” of the Municipality of Francavilla al Mare (Chieti), which aims to exploit the waits at the bus stop to spread stories very short, readable in a few minutes, trying to introduce young people especially to reading.
The system can be read in a note – it will work through QrCode and every day there will be a different mini text, a short story, an extract, a chapter also by well-known authors, with which to pass the time in a constructive and also different way, through words .

The project, organized by the Macondo School, with the precious collaboration of the Abruzzesi Tua Spa Transport Company, will last approximately six months in this phase: “Sharing a creative product within a place of transport, but also of sociality, like a public transport, is a reason for particular satisfaction for us – explains Gabriele De Angelis, president of Tua Spa. – Sometimes we tend to try to objectify the quality of a service, in terms of punctuality, comfort, safety, and more. These are undoubtedly fundamental elements. But, often, the value and social aspects that are an integral part of traveling on a train or bus are not taken into proper consideration. In the case of the “Read strong” project, which we immediately welcomed with particular attention, our vehicles also become places of culture, of exchanging experiences, of sharing intellectual works. A beautiful example which, without a doubt, contributes to developing the culture of travel”.
The QrCodes that will be found on the shelters of the Municipality of Francavilla and inside the Tua buses, refer to a page on which it will be possible to read every day a story, an extract, a different incipit, about past and contemporary authors and also to Inside “Leggiti Forte” a lottery has been inserted with the aim of rewarding readers: on the page that opens by framing the QrCode it is possible to fill out a form to participate and win vouchers for the purchase of books.
Please note that “Libridine”, promoted by the Center for Books and Reading (CEPELL), an institute of the Ministry of Culture, has the following associations participating alongside the Municipality of Francavilla al Mare: Aps Macondo, Fonderie Ars, the Association Alphaville – nonsolocinema, Neo edizioni, Sophia Aps and the Associazione Identità Musicali which in turn will involve strategic, cultural and tourist locations in the area; furthermore there is the Mondadori of Francavilla.
