“It can be debated whether resentment is one of the most powerful levers in history, but it can hardly be doubted that it has provoked the rise of most demagogues.”

Is titled “The other face of Peronism” one of the most interesting books to read released for Rogas Editions and signed by Ernesto Sábato.

The author reflects on the great split that the Argentine nation is experiencing and which will soon become apparent in all its drama.

And it does so in the midst of the enthusiasm of the progressive and liberal intelligentsia for the Libertarian Revolutionafter coup which ended the government of Juan Domingo Perón.

While in fact the elites economic and cultural of the country, as well as the parties of the Argentine left, celebrate the liberation, the working classes remain strongly linked to the Peronist movement and its leader.

“The historic divorce” is analyzed with great depth in its historical and cultural origins.
