Florence, 30 December 2025 – First “Sunday at the Museum” of 2026 for the new Florentine museum institute. Academy Gallery of Florence and Bargello Museums are preparing to welcome visitors on January 4th on the occasion of the #domenicalmuseo, the initiative of the Ministry of Culture which provides access with free ticket in museums and state archaeological parks on the first Sunday of each month.

For the occasion, it will be possible to visit the Accademia Gallery of Florence, the Bargello National Museum, the Medici Chapels Museum and the Orsanmichele Complex for free. Extraordinary openings (for a fee) also continue during the Christmas holidays, days in which the opportunities to admire the museum collections contained in a single institution multiply. On Tuesday 30 December the Orsanmichele Complex will be extraordinarily open (from 10am to 5.50pm) and the Palazzo Davanzati Museum (from 8.15am to 5.50pm). On Thursday 1 January 2026 the Museum of the Medici Chapels will be extraordinarily open from 11.15am to 6.50pm, while all other institutions will remain regularly closed. The Accademia Gallery in Florence will open extraordinarily to the public on Monday 5 January 2026 from 8.15am to 6.50pm (last entry at 6.20pm).

Finally, the Casa Martelli Museum will be open on Tuesday 6 January from 9am to 1pm. On Sunday it will not be possible to book at the museum, while paid booking remains active and strongly recommended for all other days, available via the call center – by calling +39 055 294883 – or online, by visiting the websites of the Bargello Museums and the Accademia Gallery: Bargello Musei| Accademia Gallery Florence.
