The winners of the “Black and White Minimalist Photography Prize 2024” have been announced, a competition that has celebrated the best minimalist and monochromatic photographs since its inception.

This year the jury decided to award first prize to the photograph entitled “In Great-Grandpa’s hands” by Yvonne C. Krystovsky, followed in second and third place respectively by photographers Daniel Zaleski and Alexandre Caetano.

Krystovsky’s winning photo captures a moment of tender connection between generations, showing a great-grandfather’s hands grasping those of his great-grandson. On the one hand there are the wrinkles on the elderly man’s skin that tell of his life experiences, on the other the soft fingers of the child that reflect his innocence.
