Two of his photos are among the most beautiful in the world. In the prestigious catalog “Motiva Luxury Edition 2024” of the international competition “Motiva Photo Art Festival” two shots are works by Giovanni Puliafiatoexuberant photographer from Pace del Mela.
Shots that have passed a very strict selection. Of 75 thousand images, coming from all over the world, only two thousand, considered a masterpiece of photographic art, ended up in the 624 pages of the volume.
Among these the shots “Rage Game” And “Kaleidoscopic” by the Sicilian photographer. An international recognition that above all rewards the stubbornness of a man who dedicated the last ten years of his life to his profession. With passion and enthusiasm. «It was a wonderful feeling – he confesses – which makes me proud even just for having brought prestige to our territory where there are great professionals».
Fly low Giovanni. You almost have to force him to talk about this award. To make it public he only gave voice to his photos. By simply publishing the selected shots on his Facebook page. No press release, no other communication to the press. Yet in addition to the selected photos he received a gold medal for the “Emotions – Human Relation” category of the first edition of Motiva Photo.Art.Circuit. One of his self-portraits was chosen. Photo that portrays Giovanni in an expression of great strength and determination.
«For three years I had been trying to enter this circuit by sending shots for evaluation – he says – And already in 2023 I had succeeded when other photos of mine were published in this book which is a real school of photography. Inside there are extraordinary images that tell so many stories. But to also be awarded with a gold medal is a feeling that cannot be explained.”
Giovanni’s passion for photos comes from afar. Since he was still a teenager. «Photographers – continues Giovanni – are born. Today there are means that help you become one. But to do this job you have to come into the world with a passion that accompanies you every day and every time you bring something to the center of your goal.”
The concept is clear. «The camera allows you to express what you have inside but if you have nothing inside, if you are empty, you will rarely be able to take beautiful photos». And there is no discussion about this with Giovanni Puliafito. «I put a little of myself into every shot I take. In many years of profession I have taken many beautiful photos. And I never prefer anything. I photograph everything. Sunsets. Loves. Friendships. Births. Models. I find inspiration and off I go. For me the photo is magic.”
For him who, even if a single shot is immortal, is capable of lying down among people and remaining still waiting for the right image, each photo is a different emotion. An emotion worth three. For those who shoot, for the subject photographed and for those who observe.”
