April, TV ratings growing: half a million more Italians followed the television programming of prime time during the month, a few days before its conclusion. And so the average prime time viewers are over 20 million and 100 thousand, with an increase of almost 3% compared to the same period last year.
In short, one more sign of good health of the rich linear offer, which promises to be even more varied following the market hits which are sanctioning the end of the Rai-Mediaset duopoly. It is therefore not just the exit of Amadeus from Rai e the transition to Nine (the effects of which, estimated at at least 5% share for the network in the prime time access band, will be seen from next year), but there is also the important growth of La7, which in prime time in April exceeded a 5.6% share (1,139,000 average viewers), with a year-on-year increase of 250 thousand viewers. In the Rai-Mediaset comparison, it returns to prevail in prime time public servicewith an overall share of 37.7%, compared to 36.6% of the commercial competitor.
In terms of networks, the excellent results of theaccess prime time lead to the growth of Rai1, which attracted over 4.3 million average viewers in the month (21.6% share), with a growth of almost 700 thousand spectators compared to the same period last year. In addition to La7, Rai2, Italia1 and Rete4 are also growing. Among the programs that work best during the month are Your business (27% share), theEuropa League (Rai1) e Champions (Channel 5), the always very strong programme Friends (over 25% share in the month), The Voice Generations (21.6% share), fiction The clandestine (18.2%), Strip (16%), and then Beasts on Rai2 (10.8%), Tonight anything is possible (11%), and on La7 8 and a half (almost 8% share) e on Tuesday (7.2% share).
