A fatal illness that struck yesterday, during a cycling tour in Lido degli Estensi, a 59 year old from Carpi, Daniele Zaniboni. Unfortunately, all the attempts made by the 118 rescuers to restore the heartbeat of the tourist, originally from Carpi and resident in Ponte Motta di Cavezzo, in the Bassa, were to no avail. The man, according to the information collected, he had gone to Comacchio with two friends, to venture on a hiking bike tour. At a certain point, after ingesting cold drinks, Zaniboni, also a motor enthusiast, had accused of an illness from which, unfortunately, he never recovered.
What happened
The friends quickly raised the alarm and a patrol carabinieri from Norm di Comacchio and an ambulance first arrived on the scene. The conditions of the 59-year-old cyclist, however, immediately appeared very critical and the doctors requested the help of the air ambulance, which took off from the Santa Maria delle Croci hospital in Ravenna. A patrol of the Carabinieri from Comacchio also arrived on site to assist the rescue operations. The illness occurred upon returning from the valley cycling itinerary, near the Agip petrol station, located at kilometer 5 of the Romea state road. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers continued for about an hour cardiac massage and resorted to the defibrillator, but Daniele Zaniboni’s heart, unfortunately, stopped beating.
The doctor on duty on the helicopter confirmed the death, due to natural causes, due, as later reported in the report, to cardiac arrest. At the same time, procedures were started to inform the magistrate on duty and the family members of the tourist from Cavezzo. Given the incident and the causes of death, the body was immediately placed by the judicial authority at the disposal of the relatives. The same body was then transferred by the mortician to Cavezzo, the town where Zaniboni lived with his family. The 59-year-old was a sportsman, passionate about slow tourism in the open air.
In 2015, together with a group of friends, all members of the Solidarmoto Motoclub of Cavezzo, had been the protagonist of a singular motorcycle adventure, which had allowed him to reach the North Cape, in Norway. He lived in Ponte Motta with his family and works at Polmac in Mirandola.
