Reggiana comes back to win in Palermo: 1-2

REGGIO EMILIA – Reggiana never dies. Within the walls of the ‘Renzo Barbera’ stadium in Palermo the Granata, initially disconcerting, rediscover that competitive energy capable of leading them to success and which lately seemed lost. This is how salvation is glimpsed. Portanova and Rozzio (today the divine guide) respond to Brunori’s goal. Now the mind is already occupied by the Secchia derby scheduled for Wednesday 1 May, at 6pm, at the ‘Città del Tricolore’.

The first to arrive at the journalists’ microphones is President Carmelo Salerno who states: “The city of Reggio Emilia must be proud. We brought home a victory that makes up for the last three disappointments (the defeats against Cittadella, Lecco and Cosenza, ed.)”. He adds: “We are destined to suffer, but Mr. Nesta’s authority is absorbed by the locker room.” For his part, General Alessandro Nesta declares: “Many things have happened to us on this journey (citing the numerous injuries, ed.), but we have had the ability to always get back up. You always have to be clear.”

First half
At the end of the second round Gondo attempts the winning shot, but the cry of joy is shattered by Nedelcearu’s timely closure. A few moments later the Palermo goalkeeper performs a sharp dive aimed at neutralizing Kabashi’s left foot. At the clink of the fifteenth minute, following the development of a corner kick, Pieragnolo’s volley crashes onto Brunori’s body. The ball then hits the foot of Rozzio who, without hesitation, shoots it towards the net. Pigliacelli sacrifices himself in defense of his own goal.

As the minutes pass, the Reggiana activates the handbrake instead of increasing the engine speed. Of note, in the twenty-eighth, is Nedelcearu’s header with the ball flying over the grenade crossbar. At the stroke of the thirty-fifth minute Lucioni calibrated the perfect cross to Brunori who, like a good trainer, tamed the ball and then deposited it behind Satalino. The line assistant raises his flag to the sky, recognizing the position of the scorer as irregular, but the VAR confirms the regularity of the action. The men led by Mr. Nesta feel the blow and return to the locker room with their pride wounded. The flaw in the first act: a possible penalty, for a blow with the upper limb, not granted to the Emilians.

Second half
Pigliacelli took the chair and was able to oppose the barbarian incursions of Gondo and Rozzio. The Sicilian teacher was relieved of his duties a few moments later as Portanova turned a free kick into gold. Reggiana finds his identity again. At the sixty-sixth minute the bells of Reggio ring in celebration announcing the doubling signed by captain Rozzio (his first seasonal seal). The Granata advantage induces the human resources manager Mignani to make imminent changes to the organizational structure of the island team. Soleri powerfully impacts the sphere and the sorcerer Kabashi absorbs its energy, eliminating its danger. Ninetieth minute and Bruonori, for a matter of millimeters, doesn’t frame the mirror. He ends up here. It’s time to rejoice and at the same time applaud a group of men who are often criticized but capable of honoring a shirt, the grenade one, which has a specific weight.
