One of the biggest pieces of news as this week draws to a close was undoubtedly Deadpool & Wolverine’s post-credit scene, described by reliable sources as ‘absolutely stunning’: it will introduce the new X-Men from Marvel Studios?
It would certainly be the ideal stage, and reading the scoop from the reliable insider My time to shine hello, one of the most famous in the industry thanks to its practically (almost) always accurate sources, an old rumor came to mind which was anticipated as in the finale of Deadpool & Wolverine Hugh Jackman’s new Logan would have remained in the MCU looking for ‘other mutants like him’… And, still remaining in the field of speculation, we want to try to connect some dots starting from the information we currently have.
We know, for example, that Marvel Studios has accelerated work on the reboot of the X-Men, already introduced in bits and pieces in the MCU between Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels but ready to take back the scene from Deadpool & Wolverine and already widely mentioned in the new official trailer (excluding the animated TV series X-Men 97, obviously): from what was revealed by numerous different sources, during the Hollywood strikes Kevin Feige would have decided to anticipate the arrival of the new X-Menwhich at this point could debut before the Multiverse Saga and not after.
The importance of the Deadpool & Wolverine post-credit scene was also confirmed by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, who marked the information released by My time to shine hello as authentic: the scooper spoke of a sequence ‘so mind-blowing that I can’t believe they managed to pull this off without anyone knowing.’ Commenting on the matter, another reliable scooper like Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus also stated: “Here’s what I have to say about it…The scoopers know what this scene is hiding. Even the ‘classical’ press knows it. Everyone is waiting for someone else to fire the first shot that can tease or reveal the thing so they can talk about it more freely. I won’t do it: some things are better left for the room.”
It is clear how, at least judging from these words, it could be something really big: the biggest thing that comes to mind, apart from the return of some old hero from the past like Iron Man, is something aimed at the future, like the new X-Men.
