The Municipality of Pietracatella at the Turin Book Fair: Presentation of the “Sfusato Libreria Sfusa” project with Legacoop

As part of the inauguration of the prestigious Turin Book Fair, which took place on Thursday 9 May, Molise shone with a series of very important cultural initiatives. Among these, the collaboration between the Municipality of Pietracatella and Legacoop stands out to present the innovative project to promote reading called “Libreria Sfusa”.

Inside the OVAL pavilion, the “Libreria Sfusa” project was presented, the result of the collaboration between JustMO, Libreria Concerni, Legacoop and CRU Unipol. This is an initiative aimed at promoting reading and books in the internal Fortore area, involving the municipalities of Pietracatella, Tufara and Monacilioni. The central idea is to bring the book into unconventional spaces of everyday life, transforming moments of waiting into opportunities for active and engaging reading. Through the unexpected presence of the book on the shelves of the greengrocer or hairdresser, citizens are offered a new opportunity to get closer to reading.

Also present at the event was the Mayor of Pietracatella, Antonio Tomassone, who underlined his Municipality’s commitment to promoting reading and implementing the use of the municipal library, especially in internal areas such as the Fortore. This initiative confirms the central role that books and cultural places have in the social fabric, encouraging community engagement activities and creating growth opportunities for the community.

During the first day of the Book Fair, key representatives of Molise also spoke, including the President of Legacoop Molise, Chiara Iosue, Nella Rescigno of the Coop. JustMo, the young people of the Terramea community cooperative of Carovilli and the Molise journalist Giovanni Mancinone, who presented his latest book entitled “Monsters”.

A significant moment was the meeting between Mayor Tomassone and the Councilor for Culture of the City of Turin, Rosanna Purchia, during which future projects of cultural collaboration between the two municipalities were discussed. This synergy promises to bring further opportunities for growth and exchange in the world of culture and the promotion of reading.
