Lecce-Monza, Krstovic and Pessina score: the comment
Descriptive text here

A point (the way it arrived) that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, but at the same time is decidedly positive in terms of the standings. The Lecce by Luca Gotti drew 1-1 at home against Monza by Raffaele Palladino who didn’t shine at the “Via del Mare” with his play and clarity.

A Lecce very positive on the pitch (classic 4-4-2 with Blin as a dam in the middle of the pitch, Oudin and Dorgu as high wingers, Krstovic and Piccoli as breakout points in attack) who tried in every way to break through the Brianza wall. Gotti, during the second half, tried to technically and tactically polish the team by inserting Almqvist, Sansone, Gonzalez and Pierotti into the second half, obtaining a move that was certainly more precise and dynamic than in the first half and a good part of the second.

There was a bit of a lack throughout the match incisiveness at the time of finishing and conclusion. Also because the pair of central defenders Izzo-Marì he mounted a ruthless guard over a lively Krstovic, as on the other hand Baschirotto and Pongracic did on the opposite side first against Colombo and then Djuric. The match, therefore, went smoothly but without major shocks, until the craziest four minutes of injury time of the day.

After the Eurogol with which Krstovic sent the innocent Di Gregorio, the Monza starts again: long throw and Lecce right back Lorenzo Venuti, who has recently entered the pitch, touches it with his hand. Sacrosanct penalty that Pessina he converts (but doesn’t celebrate out of respect for his former team) and makes it 1-1. The game ends like this. The Giallorossi put another important step towards salvation and are +8 in third-last place.

There are four days left until the end of the championship: the calendar will see the Lecce play in Cagliari, host Udinese and Atalanta at the “Via del Mare” and play the last match of the season away in Naples.

While waiting for the matches against Cagliari and Udinese, Lecce’s record in direct matches is positive: with Frosinone (2-1 and 1-1), Empoli (1-1 and 1-0) and Sassuolo (1-1 and 3- 0), but the one against Verona was negative (2-2 and 0-1). However, the road is downhill, the Giallorossi environment must be proud of these last two years in Serie A. Lecce is just one step away from an extraordinary result.
