Turin, Primavera debuts? Juric and his thesis

Juric spoke at the press conference about his work with the Primavera, explaining his vision on how the inclusion in the first team should be done

From his own future in the Granata to the future of the young people who are going through the Turin youth sector. Ivan Juric touched on both topics in the presentation press conference, reiterating the attention with which he follows the Primavera boys and his vision for their inclusion in the First Team.

Turin, Juric on the Primavera: “We all know them, we know their characteristics”

We are very attentive to the Primavera, we know them all, we know their characteristics” began Juric, delving further into the discussion when he was asked if any player from Scurto’s squad could make their debut in Serie A between now and the end of the championship. “You can also make a young person debut, but I don’t know if it makes sense – explained Juric – If you bet on one, like Gineitis, then you’re serious about it.” Over the course of Juric’s three-year spell in the Granata, the Primavera were often added to the First Team for training at the Philadelphia or for matches, being monitored in the sessions by Juric and the staff and then receiving a call-up if necessary for official matches depending on the needs. Only Gineitis made the leap to the first team in all respects, with a move that had been decided. Six months with Scurto at the start of the championship, then a permanent position with Juric and his debut at San Siro, without returning to the Primavera except for the Scudetto semi-final with Fiorentina.

Turin, Juric on the Primavera: “Debut in Serie A? I would like it to be perceived as a deserved achievement, not as a gift”

This year there are eight Granata Under 19 players who have received at least one call-up from Juric: the tall wingers Savva (14 calls) and Njie (2); the full-backs Antolini (7), Muntu and Bianay Balcot (2); the third goalkeeper Brezzo (4); finally the midfielders Ciammaglichella (3) and Silva (1). In the Italian Cup he was also called captain Dellavalle once. No one so far has found a debut in one or the other competition. Among them the only one with a path that can recall the beginnings of Gineitis is Savva. The Cypriot has not yet made his debut, but he has started to steadily return to Juric’s squad since January and therefore seems to be heading on the same path as he still shuttles between the Primavera and the First team. Could a debut arrive before the end of the season for someone? This is how Juric concluded: “Many kids are always with us, it can even happen that they make their debut. But I would like them to perceive it not as a little gift, but as a deserved achievement, because that player can actually be part of the first team.”
