TARQUINIA – The two-day event dedicated to the historical re-enactment of the Contrade and the Palio dell’Anello, organized by the Municipality of Tarquinia, the Pro loco Tarquinia and the Tarkna Association, starts tomorrow 10 May with the procession of figures in medieval costumes. From the suggestive square of the village of the church of Santa Maria in Castello, at 9pm, the parade will travel along via di Porta Castello, via Giuseppe Mazzini, corso Vittorio Emanuele, via Giuseppe Garibaldi, via XX Settembre, piazza Sant’Antonio, via Umberto I, for arrive at Piazza Cavour, where the spectacular performance of the flag-wavers and musicians of Santa Rosa da Viterbo will be held. The banner with the coveted prize depicting the coat of arms of Cornetum Civitas Fidelis, won in the 18th edition of the event by the district of San Martino, will be carried in the procession. “We would like to say a special thank you – say the organizers – to all the people who have worked hard in recent weeks to prepare the event, which resumes a tradition unfortunately interrupted for a few years. Tomorrow evening, ladies and knights, flag-wavers, drummers and musicians will give life to an unmissable performance, in the beautiful setting of the ancient heart of our city”.
