Cosenza, 4 awards for the young writer Gabriele Garofalo: poems and a story about Nuccio Ordine

COSENZA – From the presentation of his book, “Watermark of the heart – He who lives loves you“, published by Altromondo, which was held last Thursday at the Museo del Presente in Rende, the journey of the young Gabriele Garofalo continued in poetry and prose. The literary passion of the young student from Cosenza was in fact rewarded by three Italian regions which, between Friday 19th and Saturday 20th April, awarded 4 prizes to the very young and prodigious talent from Cosenza.

TO Naples at Palazzo Venezia, the ANCoS, promoter of the “A thousand words for a photo” literary competition, wanted to recognize his Special Critics’ Award for his creativity, which was delivered to him directly by the National President of Confartigianato, Enrico Inferrera. The extremely qualified Jury was composed of the President, the famous writer Angela Procaccini, and supported by the illustrious Professor Filomena Lombardo and together, they wanted to enhance Gabriele’s creativity, expressed in the story in honor of the unforgettable Nuccio Orderliterary historian, essayist and literary critic, also much loved by young readers.

The motivation for the award

It embodies the spirit of the writer: “The story/reflection oscillates between dreamlike and often almost magical observations and descriptive flashes in which the Calabrian land appears, like a vision of Eden, lush with colors and fertile with vines, orange groves and bergamots. It crowns the amazement of the narrative, the value of the book, capable of giving fantasy and dreams to life.”

Precisely for the gaze of the author pointed on humanity and its destinyalso there Sicily wanted to pay him the honor of First Prize for his poem on the Familyby title ‘Zama’, on the occasion of the literary competition in memory of Prof. Giusy Santonocito. For the young poet from Cosenza, the union of the family is worth more than gold or like the zamak alloy, in which each component is precious and none prevails over the others.

Finally on Saturday 20 April, in Lazio, in Aprilia, Gabriele Garofalo was recognized as both First Prize for Poetrywith its investigation into the fragility of life and the strength of hope, which the Diploma of Merit for his story which celebrates the value of Friendship and the role of reading. The ceremony was organized by the Horus Association, creator of the “Let’s cross the pens” competition.

A pride and a source of pride for the city and for Calabria. Gabriele has in his heart an attentive gaze and a love for his homeland, always evoked during the awards ceremonies and present both in the narration and in his lyrics, sometimes even with historical and mythological references.
