“Artificial intelligence and creativity: the relationship between man and machine”: this is the theme of the 121st edition of the historic art event of the Cento Pittori Via Margutta Association, from yesterday 27 April until 1 May 2024. Every exhibition structure, with the characteristic easel surmounted by an umbrella, will welcome artists from the most disparate parts of Europe and America for a wider sharing of cultures and information. Guests of this edition were some young students from the Art Academy in via Ripetta, a circumstance which represents a small step for the inclusion of art, the union of different languages for a cultural and generational exchange.

The art exhibition will take place in the evocative setting of via Margutta, the Roman street of artists, with the participation of one hundred artists from the Association and new guests selected by the artistic director Franco Dore, with the precise aim of enhancing and promoting the European cultural heritage and the union between peoples, with the precious collaboration of the entire Board of Directors: Barbara Berardicurti, Claudia Nardi and Paola Minissale.

“Artificial intelligence and intelligent machines, so-called learning, play a fundamental role today – commented the President of the Hundred Painters Luigi Salvatori – in people’s lives, thanks to the development of increasingly advanced systems inspired by the human way of thinking, acting, solving and create. Precisely for this reason, it is natural to ask whether it is legitimate to associate the term creativity with something artificial such as a machine or software. The objective of the exhibition is to raise awareness among both artists and citizens through pictorial representation.”

“We thought we would give – added vice-president Antonio Servillo – an even deeper meaning to the exhibition… There is more and more incessant talk about artificial intelligence, a word that in many ways instills fear and anguish”.

The exhibition has obtained the patronage of Roma Capitale, the Lazio Regional Council, as well as the high patronage of the European Parliament, and can be visited from 10am to 8pm every day.
