According to Israeli media, the United States is taking part in a “diplomatic effort” to prevent the International Criminal Court to issue in the next few days Arrest warrants for war crimes in Gaza towards the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Herzi Halevi, the head of the IDFthe armed forces of the Jewish State.
The Walla news site adds that Netanyahu made continuous phone calls over the weekend trying to convince the US to block any ICC decision.
Haaretz, however, writes that the Israeli government is working under the assumption that ICC prosecutor Karim Khan can issue the warrants this week.
In this situation, the Tel Aviv Foreign Minister Israel Katz has instructed all Israeli embassies around the world “to immediately prepare for a wave of serious anti-Semitism and for possible anti-Jewish and anti-Israeli outbreaks”, in case the Court actually proceeds to issue the arrest warrants.
