Before dismissing his predictions as folklore, it should be considered that Athos Salome’, 36 years old, a Brazilian parapsychologist, is considered someone who has got some predictions right in the past: he would have predicted the coronavirus pandemic well in advance, the purchase of Twitter by by Elon Musk and the death of Queen Elizabeth. Now the new Nostradamus, according to what was reported by the Daily Mail, has warned of the dangers that the technological arms race could produce in the coming months. In 2024, he claims, there will be “three days of darkness” connected to experiments related to the development of EMP technology, i.e. electromagnetic pulses in the telecommunications and warfare sectors. Salome’ evokes electromagnetic radiation and explosions caused by thermonuclear devices detonated at high altitude or outside the atmosphere. In this case, he says, tensions between Israel and Iran could potentially lead to a large-scale conflict, “a situation similar to World War III.”
The EMP system would be designed to destroy information systems and render electronic devices inoperable, without touching people or buildings. A technological war without real victims but capable of throwing the world into chaos and global blackout, and which could interfere with the Earth’s magnetic fields and create impulses capable of destroying or damaging infrastructure. With what consequences for mankind is not clear. The immediate effect could lead to the blocking of water and electricity supplies, and put cars, computers, mobile phones, transport systems, banking services, everything that needs energy to go out of action.
Unless one lives isolated from the rest of the world, and in the midst of nature, the effects, according to the “Brazilian prophet”, would affect a vast world population. And without considering the risk of nuclear missiles being triggered and launched hundreds of kilometers above the atmosphere. During the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union saw the EMP system as a tool to disable enemy infrastructure without causing direct damage.
