While there is talk of the possible introduction of a new DAZN subscription, with a communication published on its official website the platform has announced an important change for the services offered through DAZN TV Box.
In particular, the backup transmission via digital terrestrial it will be available exclusively until 31 July 2024: from 1 August 2024 it will not be possible to access this service, also in light of the improvements that the service has implemented in recent years.
All other services provided by DAZN TV Box will continue to be available and will remain unchanged from August 1, 2024. This means that users will be able to open the DAZN application to access all streaming content.
As stated in the official DAZN documentation, the platform had launched the backup channel on digital terrestrial as a solution to problems in case of insufficient internet connection. By accessing the DAZN app, the DAZN TV Box detected these problems and automatically switched to the linear channel on digital terrestrial. This will no longer happen as the app wants to focus almost exclusively on streaming.
DAZN also recently commented on the recent price increase, noting that it is lower than other leagues.
