Eurovision 2024 betting: Croatia ahead, Italy fourth

The news on the betting trend in recent weeks regarding the Eurovision 2024 in Malmo is one: there is no victory announced.

Two caveats. The first: these are projections that rely heavily on Anglophone hearing, while in Europe there are various other agencies (Snai and Sisal here, but not only) that allow us to understand what trends there are in their respective parts.

The second: the scoreboard present here is that of 2.40 pm on Monday 6 May. It is worth pointing out that the percentages indicated are not those of arriving at the place considered, but of overall victory.

Eurovision 2024: bets for victory

To the first place currently stands out “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” by Baby Lasagna, competing for Croatia. Just recently its share reached 26%. Having remained in second place throughout the month of April, it gained more ground during the tests, and we will soon explain the reason.

In any case, from May 2nd this is a return to the lead, the one he had in March. His odds range from 2.7 to 3. This is certainly not an announced victory, but an important sign of trust towards an artist who brings a story to the stage and a country that is aiming for a first, historic victory (also remembering that Riva, winners of Yugoslavia in 1989, were Croatian).

To the second place there is Switzerland. Nemo, with “The Code,” currently has a 17% chance of making it. They were also higher before the tests began, but the stylistic choice does not seem to have particularly convinced. If anything, it is to be expected that anything could still happen. Moreover, the song is very difficult to perform, and the artist succeeds with great ease by switching from one vocal register to another and from one genre to another. Her odds are mainly between 4 and 4.75 (Sky Bet’s 3.25 is a kind of outlier).

To the third place we find Ukraine. From “Teresa & Maria” by alyona alyona and Jerry Heil Above all, the 30-second segment of the second rehearsal on stage was convincing, the one of which the aforementioned television images were broadcast, with Jerry Heil climbing alone during the final chorus. It is currently at 14%, and the easiest share to find is 5.5.

Angelina Mango Quotes

Let’s now come to Italy: Angelina Mango, with “La noia”, is in fourth position, even if by a very narrow margin. His chances have been hovering around 12% for days and show no signs of moving from there. This is a high odds, which certainly portends a battle of the head on Saturday, that is when it will really count. All we have to do is cross our fingers to see another Italian song soar to the top.

Completes the top 5, but far behind, Joost Klein, with its “Europapa”, for the Netherlands. Until April 25, the artist’s shares were constantly rising, up to 15%, but the evidence made it clear that she is focusing heavily on televoting. Result: important descent, because to win Eurovision you have to count on both televoting and juries. In any case, the performance will be talked about…

Sixth position for France, with “Mon amour” by Slimane which however is a candidate to finish in first place for the juries. Doubts remain regarding the televoting, but one element must be brought to attention: there were also some for “Two Lives”, then Marco Mengoni took approximately the same points between juries and televoting and finished fourth.

Among the many odds, it is worth mentioning the net rise of Bambie Thug for Ireland with “Doomsday blue”. This is now the only other share above 4%, while as regards the United Kingdom it is tenth place Olly Alexander with “Dizzy”.

Spain and Germany are not very convincing, in 23rd and 24th place respectively, but in both cases it must be said that, from the beginning, there were not many expectations, albeit under different premises. If, in fact, “Always on the run” by Isaac it didn’t particularly move, there’s a whole more fun and nice background linked to “Zorra” dei Nebula. 33rd place for San Marino with “11:11” by Megara.

Eurovision 2024: the bets for the first semi-final

Source: eurovisionworld.com

As regards the first semi-final, given that the first six places are absolutely unmovable, and probably also the seventh, it is from the eighth that we can start to make some reasoning. The positioning of Silia Kapsis, with “Liar”, is the opening act of the first semi-final. But many have noticed how the presence of Eleni Foureira in the opening act it might not be very favorable to her. The classic double-edged sword, which could benefit both Australia and Slovenia.
