The disco is closed and there are no tents or umbrellas on the beach, but a stretch of towels from those who lie in the sun taking advantage of the remaining void. A cumbersome void left in Focette by the “Bussola”: a club and beach resort – imagined and launched by Sergio Bernardini – that has made the history of Versilia.
While there are still many uncertainties about the future of the disco, which was managed by the Angeli family until last March, something is starting to move on the beach front. At the beginning of this summer it has remained free, without surveillance or cleaning. Just yesterday, the mayor Alberto Stefano Giovannetti, together with the municipal lawyer and the staff of the maritime property and tax offices, met with Chantal Srl, a company of the Guidi family, owner and concessionaire of the historic Bussola di Focette.
“We were told that last Friday Chantal Srl regained possession of the keys to the beach establishment – the mayor reports -. They immediately carried out an inspection and contacted some people to activate, within a few days, the bathing assistance and beach cleaning service”. “As I have already had the opportunity to highlight – continues Mayor Giovannetti -, safety on that stretch of beach is the first emergency to be resolved: I welcomed with great pleasure the willingness of the owners to act immediately in this direction and their desire to set up and reorganize the beach service”.
As regards the financial situation, the representatives of the Guidi family have confirmed to the Municipality their willingness to settle the outstanding amount and the offices have committed to sending, as soon as possible, an updated and definitive calculation of the amounts.
