Fermo, 2 July 2024 – He could not accept that the 20-year-old daughter was dating an “unfaithful” Italian and start a romantic relationship with him. It had happened precisely to that domineering father and Moroccan Islamic fundamentalist, who had found himself faced with a situation unacceptable for his culture.
His attempts to dissuade the girl, however, had only had the opposite effect and she she had gone to live at her boyfriend’s houseunleashing pandemonium in the family. The father’s reaction had in fact been violent, fueled by the desire to make her pay for having dishonoured him and for having accepted to live like a Westerner. This was how a long series of threats, including death threatsfollowed by psychological and physical violence that had brought the girl to exasperation, so much so that she began to fear for his life.
A condition of constant fear which resulted in a complaint to the police who, after having verified the terrible situation, had communicated the facts to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Fermo, who had requested and obtained a precautionary measure for the victim’s father, a 50-year-old Moroccan resident in Fermo. Thus the men of the mobile squad of the Fermo police headquarters had executed the precautionary measure order of the no approach allowed to the victim, issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the court of Fermo against the father-master who had carried out the mistreatment towards his daughter, which then resulted in a series of persecutory behaviors towards her.
At the end of the investigations the man was sent to trial for mistreatment in the family and aggravated threat. As mentioned, the young girl had started a romantic relationship with a boy of the same age from Fermo, but when she decided to leave home to go and live with her boyfriend, her father had gone berserk. The girl had addressed to the police and the detectives of the flying squad had carried out immediate investigations, collecting various sources of evidence from which the responsibilities of the 50-year-old had emerged. At the end of the investigative activity, the judicial authority had therefore issued against the North African, the precautionary measure of the prohibition of approaching his daughter and the places she usually frequented, as well as of communicating with any direct or indirect means.
