Berrettini beats Fucsovics and awaits Sinner in the second round
The Roman tennis player started the British Grand Slam well by easily winning the first round: he immediately opened the match well by winning the first two sets (the first at the tie-break, the second more easily). He then lost the third, only momentarily allowing his opponent to get back into the match. In the end he easily closed the fourth set, earning his pass to the second round. Now wait for the winner between Sinner and Hanfmann to find out who his next opponent will be. The possibility of immediately witnessing an all-Italian derby is quite concrete.
Back problems during the first round
Yet there had been fear for Matteo. In fact, he had requested a medical time-out during the first round against Marton Fucsovics at Wimbledon 2024.
