Last Friday 28 June, the policemen of the flying squad arrested a Tunisian citizen for threatening and resisting a public official. The episode occurred around midnight, when officers intervened in the Nicolosi area of ​​Latina, following the report of a foreign man who was walking around with an iron bar, shouting in Arabic.

Arriving at the scene, the police officers spotted the man as he was walking through the surrounding streets. The individual, bare-chested, reacted to the sight of the officers by shouting death threats and getting dangerously close. He then attempted to punch one of the officers in the face, but the officer managed to dodge it.

Given the situation, the police officers first used the Taser to try to dissuade him, and then used the pepper spray provided, thus managing to render him harmless. The man was then arrested for resisting and threatening a public official.

Taken to the Police Headquarters, he was photographed and several previous convictions for crimes against the person emerged against him, in addition to an ongoing obligation to report to the judicial police.

Having informed the Public Prosecutor on duty, the man was detained in the security rooms of the Police Headquarters, awaiting the direct ritual. The next morning, the hearing ended with a six-month prison sentence, with the sentence suspended.
