Egidio Pensa, a well-known entrepreneur and one of the founders of the company of the same name, “Pensa Costruzioni e Asfalti Srl”, which was founded in 1973 and has always had its registered office and administrative headquarters in Valmadrera, passed away at the age of 91: it was founded over half a century ago by Egidio himself, with his brothers Giancarlo and Sergio; the name “F.lli Pensa Snc” was the first and marked the generational transition from his father’s company, founded by Cavalier Gioachino Pensa. The historic company is now run by his grandchildren. Egidio Pensa left behind his wife Laura, his son Massimo and his daughter Patrizia, with her husband Alberto and his granddaughter, Elena Butti. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 in the parish church of Valmadrera.
A message of condolence was expressed by the mayor Cesare Colombo, on behalf of the municipal administration “in memory of an exemplary entrepreneur”. The former mayor Antonio Rusconi knew him well and remembers him “with gratitude: our first meeting dates back to around the end of the 80s. Egidio Pensa has always been an authoritative person, but at the same time courteous, good and smiling: he was very close to the then mayor Panzeri and was for a long time the point of reference for the asphalting activities of the streets of the municipality. He was very precise and punctual in his work – says Rusconi – but I also knew him as a sensitive, generous person, attentive to less fortunate people or families, always with discretion and the tact not to appear, in fact he wanted his help to remain anonymous”
