The State Police, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Milan, has carried out a precautionary custody order in prison against a 31-year-old Egyptian citizen
held responsible for the crime of multi-aggravated robbery against an elderly woman who was attacked and robbed of her gold necklace inside the entrance hall of the building in Viale Brianza, while she was returning home after doing the shopping.
The investigation activity was started by the policemen of the Investigation Team of the Garibaldi Venice Commissariat following the robbery committed on Saturday 11 May 2024 by a man who, after following the 86-year-old woman, attacked her from behind, he pinned her down with his arm around her neck and tore off the gold necklace she was wearing, worth around 10,000 euros, before pushing her to the ground and running away.
Following the investigations, the GlP Office of the Court of Milan, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, issued, on 06.24.2024, a precautionary custody order in prison against the suspect, carried out by the policemen after he himself had made himself unavailable both at his home and at his workplace.
By viewing the video surveillance images of the condominium, the officers from the Via Schiaparelli police station identified the 31-year-old and seized the clothing he was wearing during the robbery, including a black T-Shirt. The man, with several precedents for robbery committed in the same area, was stopped by the police last Wednesday in a bar in San Giuliano Milanese (MI) while playing slot machines and was then taken to the San Vittore prison.
