He fought for days at Lavagna hospital, in the intensive care unit, but his condition immediately seemed desperate: Fabiola Prosperini, 44 years old, a Milanese insurer, died yesterday, Wednesday 19 June, while her son is in very serious conditions at the Gaslini hospital in Genoa. Those nine minutes that passed before the staff at the port of Lavagna managed to extract them from the passenger compartment of the car determined the seriousness of their conditions, and now the hypothesis of the crime contested by the Prosecutor could change.
The causes of the accident are still a mystery: the investigators have two hypotheses: a fault in the car’s automatic transmission or driver error. The car, while reversing, violently hit a bollard before falling into the water, fortunately with the rear door open: this allowed Prosperini’s husband and two of the three children to get out quickly. Which was not possible for Fabiola and her younger son.
Prosecutor Sabrina Monteverde had opened a file for injuries but after the woman’s death the file could change. The vehicle is still under seizure and is being subjected to all the investigations to shed light on the causes of the tragedy that broke up an entire family.
