Venezia and Cremonese towards the final. And which is the third relegated from Serie A?

An important weekend is coming up for the definition of the next Serie A squad, therefore to have an overview of Como’s next opponents.

The return matches of the playoff semi-finals will be played tonight and tomorrow: Venezia are very close to reaching the final and, after winning the first leg in Palermo 1-0, are back on the field tonight at home. And at this point he will certainly get there by winning or drawing, but he could also get there by losing with a one-goal margin by virtue of his better position in the standings. At the end of the ninety minutes there is no extra time, the task for Palermo is not impossible but extremely difficult.

Tomorrow evening the return match between Cremonese and Catanzaro will be played in Cremona. In this case the first leg ended in a draw, 2-2, so the Grigiorossi would go to the final by winning or drawing. Catanzaro, on the other hand, would only qualify for the last match by winning.

The two final matches will then be played on Thursday 30 May and Sunday 2 June, with the best-placed team returning home. Also in this case, no extra time or penalties, in case of equal points and goals after the two clashes, the team playing the second leg at home, the one placed better in the championship, will go to Serie A.

In the meantime, however, the last day of the Serie A championship is also scheduled for this weekend. And there is still a verdict to be expressed regarding relegation: if it is already known that Parma and Como will take the place of Sassuolo and Salernitana, there is still a name at stake, that of the third team that will go down to Serie B.

The race at the moment is between Frosinone, 35 points, Udinese 34 and Empoli 33. The matches in question will be played on Sunday evening at 8.45pm, with a fiery direct clash between Frosinone and Udinese at the home of the Ciociari while Empoli will host Roma .

But it is not even certain that the verdict will arrive on Sunday, there could also be the possibility of a subsequent play-off – this is what the regulation provides – if Udinese lost and Empoli drew.

In any case, two of these three teams will be Como’s opponents next season. And the fans, also waiting for news on the season ticket campaign, will certainly already be mentally preparing for next year’s away games, after a season in which the presence of Como supporters even in away games was truly massive.
