Bad weather in Verona, Confartigianato: “Urgent action is needed to avoid future damage”.

Devis Zenari, president of Confartigianato Imprese Verona, launches an appeal to urgently address the problems related to bad weather. Zenari highlights the importance of “structural actions with regional coordination and greater pay attention to land consumption“.

In Veneto, the average surface area of ​​unused productive assets it is 1,880 square meters. In the province of Verona, there are 1,593 abandoned production units, equal to 17.3% of the regional total and 9.2% of the provincial production stock. This is equivalent to 3.30 square meters per inhabitant (3.74 in Veneto).

Of the production units unused in the Verona area, 650 are located outside the production areas, the so-called ZAI (Industrial Artisan Zones), occupying a total 920 thousand square meters. “Unfortunately – continues Zenari – we must prepare for manage these climate emergencies with targeted actions to avoid irreversible damage. The climate is changing, and we must expect exceptional rainfall, floods and other increasingly frequent disasters. It is necessary monitor the areas most at risk from a hydraulic and hydrogeological point of view and act urgently through structural interventions coordinated at provincial and regional level“.

Zenari also highlights the problem of land consumption, which affects the greenhouse effect.
