A meeting regarding the topic of sport is scheduled for tomorrow at 8.45pm at the Mesini Sindaco electoral committee (via Mazzini, 1). The evening, entitled “Sassuolo City of Sport”, is dedicated to sharing proposals regarding the various sporting practices that animate the city, in a dialogue that aims to investigate the ways in which to enhance them and improve their enjoyment by citizens. Speakers will include: the mayoral candidate Matteo Mesini, the Serie A1 women’s volleyball athletes Josephine Obossa and Federica Pelloni and the Anfass representative Marcello Micheloni. Together with the CAI of Sassuolo, La Via Vandelli and other various sports projects linked to young people and people with disabilities will also be discussed in collaboration with various local bodies. As many as 94 sports associations and clubs were invited to the event. “We will go beyond every economic and social barrier – states Mesini – because sport must be accessible to everyone, and today we don’t always have the possibilities to access sports practice. We believe it is a fundamental right. Those who practice sport have a healthier lifestyle and structured relationships, so an administration’s care for people also passes through here. In Sassuolo we must start first of all from greater maintenance of the facilities and from the strengthening of the existing structures, in order to propose policies that favor access to sports”.
