Liguria. Green light from the regional council, on the proposal of the Tourism councilor, to the call for contributions to be granted to the Pro loco associations organizing or co-organising the “Authentic Ligurian Events” already recognized for the year 2024.
This recognition follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 13 September 2023 between the Liguria Region, Department of Tourism and the Unpli Liguria Aps association, aggregator of the Ligurian Pro Loco and was awarded following a joint investigation, on the basis of requirements established therein.
The calendar of ‘Authentic Ligurian Events’ for 2024 of the Ligurian Pro Loco, registered in the Regional Register and associated with Unpli, was presented last February 29th and is made up of 33 events.
“I am very pleased to be able to consolidate the collaboration with Unpli Liguria and give value to the activity of our Pro loco whose events have a connotation of authenticity with respect to the traditions, culture and history of our wonderful territory, in particular of the hinterland, even to promote tourism throughout the year for a better use of the Liguria destination – stated the regional councilor for Tourism -. I sincerely hope that this economic support can encourage the Ligurian Pro Loco to grow in quality of the same events and at the same time I am convinced that by 2025 many others will be interested in nominating their events for the authentic events calendar”.

For this reason we are satisfied with the promise kept by the regional councilor for Tourism which represents a strong signal of concrete support for the constant work and genuine commitment of the Pro Loco”.
The Notice, which has a financial allocation of 150 thousand euros, provides for the granting of regional contributions with the following criteria:
– amount of the contribution: no more than 50% of the total expenses which will be declared as the exclusive responsibility of the requesting Pro Loco and which are not supported by other public contributions;
– maximum contribution that can be granted for events started at least in 1999: 6 thousand euros; maximum contribution that can be granted for events starting from the year 2000: 3 thousand euros.
The Pro loco can submit an application for contribution from 3 to 30 June 2024. All the documentation can be downloaded from the regional website in the tourism/proloco/authentic Ligurian events section.
