CATANIA – The annual football match between doctors and patients, organized by LILT and Ibiscus associations, ended with a score of five to two. The match, played last Saturday at La Meridiana sports center in Nesimarecorded a great turnout and enthusiasm.
The event, entitled “Kick lymphoma“, was promoted by the Hematology Operating Units ofArnas Garibaldi he was born in Policlinico-San Marco, together with the Pediatric Hematology of the latter hospital. These units are respectively headed by Dr. Ugo Consolifrom the Prof. Francesco Di Raimondo and from Dr. Luca Lo Nigro.
The lymphoma it’s a relatively rare tumor that affects approximately 4 people per 100,000 inhabitantsbut it is the most common in the age group between 20 and 30 years. In Italy there are approximately 2,150 new diagnoses per yearof which 1,220 were men and 930 were women.
The success of the meeting was also made possible thanks to contribution from the Italian Referees Associationentertainers Federica Zammataro and Giacomo Giuratoand above all of the patients, guided by Vito Cataldo and the technician Pino Rigoli.
